Title: My new pair of skates
Category: Full of Life
Blog Entry: I had a cheap used pair of ccm skates which I got off ebay around six months back. I went for the skates as the seller promised top quality. It was written that the skates had been used only for a couple of months and were actually brand new. But obviously I was cheated. I did get the skates at a cheap rate of $50 but they were really uncomfortable. I often used to get blisters in my toe. But as I had invested some money I thought of carrying on with these skates and hope that regular use will aid break-in. But the break-in never happended!! I don't know what the reason was. I even tried heating the skates up but to no avail. I wonder what the reason could be. Was it because of the bad quality of padding or may be this is the case with all used skates? Or may be the issue was that the skates obviouly where very old and were used for more than a year before they were put up on ebay for sale. Anycase, I finally decided to do away with these skates for good. I ordered a pair of hockey skates online a week bfore. They are RBK pump and I got them delivered today. Infact I am wearing them right now as I am tying this post and it feels great. Even before the break-in I feel really comfortable and I love it!! I got an excellent tip from a friend of mine to reduce the break-in period of a skate and I used this technique to these skates. It really does work. It's all about heating the skates up with a blow dryer before wearing them. This helps the padding mould better to your leg shape. Alright, let me go a do some skating now!!
